On Thursday, July 18, doctors from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof. Dr. Matei Balș” participated in a demo session of the HChat platform. HChat is an intuitive tool based on artificial intelligence algorithms designed to assist healthcare professionals in addressing questions related to available treatments for HIV/AIDS. In this article we will explore the functionalities and impact of the HChat platform, highlighting its role in improving the management of HIV/AIDS treatment.
HChat Overview
HChat is designed to provide up-to-date information and accurate answers about drug interactions and allowable associations between different molecules used in HIV/AIDS treatments. Through the use of AI technology, HChat aims to provide healthcare professionals with the opportunity to make informed and confident decisions about patients’ treatments.
Highlights of the demo session
During the event, the Balș Institute team received a comprehensive presentation of how the platform works. They were shown how to access the chatbot’s functionalities and received clarifications on any difficulties encountered. The success of the demo session was evident as requests to create an account on the platform quickly followed. The more than 60 doctors who signed up for the app were actively involved in the platform, asking hundreds of questions daily, demonstrating the usefulness of HChat and appealing to its users.
Functionality and features
HChat’s complexity lies in its ability to address voice questions related to HIV/AIDS, with answers delivered in the same way. One of the major functionalities of the platform is its interaction component. This feature allows the search for interactions between a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 drugs or molecules. For each interaction detected, HChat provides the risk level, a description of the interaction, recommendations and references used.
The risk detection grid is designed in the form of a traffic light: green represents an insignificant risk, yellow indicates a low risk, orange means a moderate risk, and red denotes a high risk. This visual indicator helps healthcare professionals quickly assess the safety of drug combinations.
Impact and future prospects
The introduction of HChat marks a significant advance in the management of HIV/AIDS treatments. By providing reliable, real-time information on drug interactions, HChat supports medical professionals in providing optimal patient care. The enthusiastic response of the medical community at the Balș Institute underlines the potential of the platform to become an indispensable tool in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
As HChat continues to evolve, it is poised to further enhance its capabilities, potentially incorporating additional features and expanding its database to include a wider range of treatments and interactions. Continuous feedback from its users will be crucial in shaping the future development of the platform, ensuring that it meets the ever-changing needs of healthcare professionals.
The successful demonstration session at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases “Prof. Dr. Matei Balș” highlighted HChat‘s promise in revolutionizing HIV/AIDS treatment management. By combining artificial intelligence with an intuitive user interface, HChat enables healthcare professionals to make informed decisions, ultimately improving patient outcomes. As the platform gains trust, it will become a stepping stone in the management of complex medical treatments.
HChat is developed by the Romanian company Apollo AI Technologies, specialized in the development of professional applications based on artificial intelligence and promoted with the help of platforms developed by People and Companies, MedicalManager.ro and EventsMax.ro.
